On this episode, I welcome seasoned dad and neurologist Dr. Joseph Sirven. Dr. Joe joined Mayo Clinic in 1999 and has served as the Chair of the Department of Neurology since 2010. He has published extensively on epilepsy and therapeutics, is a consultant regarding epilepsy for agencies like the CDC, NIH, NASA, and FAA. Joe serves as the editor in chief of epilepsy.com and has holds various leadership roles, supports curriculum development, and provides teaching and lectures across the globe to support the neurology field. Joe, who is a first generation Cuban American is passionate about healthcare for Latinos and is a former online contributor to NBC Latino. I recently had the good fortune to be a guest on Dr. Joe’s “What’s Health Got To Do With it?,” a weekly health talk program where he examines where health care intersects with life through engaging interviews on topics that cover the medical spectrum.
